Sadness!

I've been VERY VERY VERY busy lately! So that explains my lack of posts, but I did add a new page! I thought it would be helpful if you could scroll through all my snow cone pics.

So anyway, summer's pretty much over. Sad. And that means all the snow cone stands close. Double sad. AND, on top of that, school starts. Triple sad! Gosh, it's getting really sad! BUT, dance starts. Happy. Cooler weather. Double happy. And I get to see my friends. Triple happy!

So I should probably mention that I went to my grandma's house for a week, made the dance team (!), saw all 5 grandparents in 1 road trip to Colorado, and went to camp! Ya, not much blogging time! But I probably could have found the time. But then I would have to get a snow cone which I haven't done in awhile. BUT, we did try (but failed) to get a snow cone on vacation!

So I'm thinking about doing a year-round blog about maybe fashion-ish stuff and maybe do like a story-type blog about my vacation! It all depends on how bored I get! So I guess it's bye for now, but I'll tell ya when I make my new blog (s)! Tomorrow I'll be back with pics! Oh, and I missed the new arrivals! (Again?!) But I'll still share my thoughts on mid-season arrivals tomorrow! Wait..... It's not mid-season! But not like REALLY new..... So I dub them not-that-new-but-still-pretty-new-arrivals! Ya, I'll work on that! ;)

Snow Cones: IDK!

Happy belated 4th of July! We found a snow cone place in the middle of of the country! There's like one good restaurant in the area, and they just put a new snow cone stand in. I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but it might be Natty Flats (the name of the restaurant).

Or Davis' Corn Crib! They also sell roasted corn. Anyway...

Selection: *** Um, good. Great for being in the middle of nowhere! I was surprised we saw one! But it was pretty good!

I got granny smith apple and cherry. It was a surprisingly amazing combo! I thought grasshopper (mint chocolate chip) and spiderman sound pretty cool for a snow cone!

Bees, Wasps, and Stinging Bugs: **** No stinging bugs, but I did see a few grasshoppers. I am deathly scared of grasshoppers! I hate them. And I know that they can't hurt me, but I don't like them.

Lines: **** Surprisingly, after we got our snow cones, a line formed! Not crazy long, but still, it was a line!

Ice: *** Good, but it wasn't shaved. Or at least, I don't think it was. It was actually pretty good though. There was a big chunk at the top, but after the initial chunk, it was awesome!

Toppings: * Um, there weren't any. Ya, no toppings.

Snow Cone: **** Amazing! For a tiny town. I'm way impressed!

Any snow cone places in surprising locations? I was NOT expecting that! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we didn't stay for the 4th, and they couldn't use fireworks either. Boo hoo. And John Wilkes Booth died in Granberry, or however you spell it! Anyway, not one firework went off in Austin or anywhere near hear! On a random note:

Yep, country sunset!

Snow Cones: Bahama Freeze, Part iii

Dance, dance, dance, dance, snow cone! That's pretty much how it went. I did ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. Then my mom picked me up, and I told her I was hungry. For some unknown reason, she let me get a Bahama Freeze! Arianna, from http://awesometasticalsummerstuff.blogspot.com , suggested Rock 'n Roll, and it's awesome!  Thanks Arianna! The lady said that it was like grape, blue raspberry, and blueberry! Bahama Freeze is kinda tropical-ish and a bit berry-ish! It's the light blue one. Rock 'n Roll is the purple one. Oh, and the lady was sooo sweet! Little did she know, she was in the presence of a world class (not really! =D ) snow cone critic!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that she put a small sized ice block in a medium cup! Genius! It's hard to see, but there's a lot of purple at the bottom.

This is what it looked like when I was done!

Thoughts? Suggestions? Any non-selfexplanitory flavors I should try? Has anyone "reviewed" a snow cone stand iii times? I love doing 3 I's instead of a 3! Anyone else?

Answers:

If you chose mostly As...
You are exactly like me! I'd suggest Melonberry or a soda with a fruity flavor and cream on top. BTW, I'm just suggesting random flavors!

If you chose mostly Bs...
You are pretty calm and laid back. I would try a cream soda or vanilla-y flavor with root beer or cola.

If you chose mostly Cs...
You are classic and very patriotic. You should try fruity flavors like apple, grape, cherry, or tropical flavors.

If you chose mostly Ds...
You are very girly. Anything pink or exciting will probably taste awesome to you. Maybe try something with cherry or sour apple. Try sweet with sour.

If you chose mostly Es...
You are reasonable and dependable. Try mixing fruity flavors that may not seem like they go together like raspberry and banana or lime and blueberry. Berry flavors are always a good choice.

If you chose mostly Fs...
You are obviously a ghost. You can't eat because the snow cone would fall right through you. I'm curious as to why you are reading a snow cone blog. But if you insist, I would try any flavor that sounds interesting like Tiger's Blood or Rock n' Roll. Or anything black or bloody-looking.

In conclusion, this means absolutely nothing! I wasted your time. I just made up up random things. If I'm right, awesome! If I'm not, too bad! I warned you! L8er!

Am I right? Any thoughts? Anyone a snow-cone-blog-reading-ghost? I'm a melonberry lover! What about y'all?

Snow Cones: Frozy's

I'm back! Ok, we've been seeing this snow cone place called Frozy's. But It's had a sign that said COMING SOON for like what seems like a month! Finally, it opened!

Selection: *** OK. Iced Tea, Dreamsicle, and Fuzzy Navel sound interesting. I like the concept of dye-free syrups!

Wasps, Bees, and Other Stinging Bugs: ***** Perfect! I didn't see one ant! I know it's just because it's brand new, but I didn't see any, and I tell y'all what I see/taste!

Lines:**** Awesome! It's new, so that's expected. I did see the person's dad, but I don't like it when I'm the only one there! Never a good sign!

Ice: *** It was shaved, but i got a few chunks of ice. It was good, but not incredible.

Toppings: *** Mixed feelings. They had 1 topping: sweet cream. But it was by far the best sweet cream I've ever had in my snow-cone-reviewing life! I think it would taste pretty good with everything. I got raspberry and root beer, and it tasted unbelievably good!

Snow Cone: *** Good! If the ice was a bit better, it would get four stars, but it wasn't. Oh well, it was still a pretty good snow cone!

YUM! And the main positive was that it's relatively close to where I live. For a new stand, I think it will be pretty successful.

Snow Cones: Casey's New Orleans Snowballs

Let's get this out of the way: it is not a snow cone, but it's similar. The ice is a bit different, but it tastes just as amazing!

Also, it's in an old house; not a trailer. You order from the front porch!

Selection: **** Interesting! They have snowballs, juiceballs, cream flavors, and of course, sugar free. I think nectar, fireball, and hurricane sound awesome!

Bees, Wasps, and Stinging Bugs: **** Pretty sweet! I think I saw one wasp, but I did get an ant bite!

Lines: ***** I don't know if we just arrived at the perfect time or what, but we saw people eating snow cones and people ordering snow cones after us, but not one person had to wait in line!

Ice: ***** This is what makes it a snow ball! Best ice I've ever had! I think it's like crazy thinly shaved ice or what, but that ice is like powder snow! Perfect. Well, not exactly. A few chunks were at the bottom, but if you don't mind chunks (I don't), then it's the perfect ice!

It looks like Snow Beach ice, but it's so much better! Here's the bottom. It had a few chunks of ice, but not terrible:

I know it's hard to see, but there aren't too many ice balls!

Toppings: ***** Does it get any better? Classic cream and carmel, but seriously? Chamoy, Sweetened condensed milk, whipped cream, and chili con limon? You have got to be kidding me! I think that the sweetened condensed milk sounds delicious!

Snow Cones: **** Over all, best snow cone I've ever had! Great (ish) selection, no lines, crazy toppings, no bugs (almost!)! Yes, the ice had a few chunks, but there's always room for improvement!

I got the custard and root beer! It was so good! I contemplated cream soda vs. custard, but obviously custard won. I try not to use to two soda flavors in a snow cone, but Brussel Sprout's standards aren't as high. He got root beer and cream soda (it was good, but not as good as mine! :D). My  dad got cherry and grape. I hate all grape anything. Except that grape snow ball! For grape, it was amazing! So go to Casey's and let's enjoy our pure enjoyment together! *sigh*..... I love snow balls!

Amanda~ I was lost in another world when I looked at the menu. I forgot to try the watermelon and coke! I will next time!

Anyone else in love with snow balls? More flavor suggestions?  Has anyone ever tried the juice balls?

Snow Cones: Bahama Freeze part ii!

Hey so I saw this new snow cone stand called Frozy's. It sounds sweet, right? So my dad and I drove up and saw that it's coming soon. Disappointment! Anyway, then we went to Bahama Freeze again because that was the only place we could get to quickly*. We had a deadline, but I forgot why.  I just have some flavor suggestions! Since I am in love with melonberry, but wanted something else (I am a 2-flavor snow cone type of girl!). I had tried it with cherry and loved it, but I wanted something different (I am also a never-have-the-same-snow-cone-twice type of girl.). So I decided on wedding cake with cream only on the side with wedding cake on it and melonberry. Probably the most delicious flavor combo ever!

*I tried to convince him to take me to some other un-reviewed snow cone stand, but he refused. Mainly because they were kind of far-ish and we didn't know how to get there. Well, we have an entire summer, so expect a snow cone post by Wednesday!

On a random note: I ate at Hopdoddy's tonight, and loved it! But I'm not gonna blog about the burgers or fries. I'm bloggin' 'bout the float! It was a root beer float with this special cinnamon custard-y ice cream. Just so we're clear, I hate cinnamon. But this float was delectable! I recommend it to anyone who eats food! SO GOOD! The burger gets five stars too!

Still working on the pictures! I'm gonna start takin' pics of the snow cones! Yay!

Snow Cones: Bahama Freeze!

First of all, I'm really sorry for the strange absence of posts, but i've been pretty busy!  I had a ton of fun at Brooke's house! And just as much at Bubble's house!

OK, I don't really know how to review snow cones, but I'll try:

Selection: ***** Great! They had some crazy flavors (rock 'n roll, sunset) and some classics (cherry, lime, blue raspberry). I think they had more choices than snow beach (or is that just my sick fantasy?)!

Bees, Wasps, and Stinging Bugs: **** Pretty good! I only saw a few. I have been to both trailers, and they have barely any!

Lines: *** Not terrible, especially for a good snow cone. I only waited a few minutes!

Ice: **** Good. A few chunks here and there, but great other than that!

Toppings: **** Above average! Usually I see cream and caramel, but they had  sour, cream, caramel, and something that I forgot! Also, they had chili powder, and I asked them about it. They said that some people love snow cones with it!

Snow cones: ***** tasted great! I would totally recommend the melonberry or cherry!

Have y'all ever been there? Any thoughts? Favorite flavors and/or combinations?
