Snow Cones: Frozy's

I'm back! Ok, we've been seeing this snow cone place called Frozy's. But It's had a sign that said COMING SOON for like what seems like a month! Finally, it opened! 

Selection: *** OK. Iced Tea, Dreamsicle, and Fuzzy Navel sound interesting. I like the concept of dye-free syrups! 

 Wasps, Bees, and Other Stinging Bugs: ***** Perfect! I didn't see one ant! I know it's just because it's brand new, but I didn't see any, and I tell y'all what I see/taste!


Lines:**** Awesome! It's new, so that's expected. I did see the person's dad, but I don't like it when I'm the only one there! Never a good sign!


Ice: *** It was shaved, but i got a few chunks of ice. It was good, but not incredible.


Toppings: *** Mixed feelings. They had 1 topping: sweet cream. But it was by far the best sweet cream I've ever had in my snow-cone-reviewing life! I think it would taste pretty good with everything. I got raspberry and root beer, and it tasted unbelievably good!


Snow Cone: *** Good! If the ice was a bit better, it would get four stars, but it wasn't. Oh well, it was still a pretty good snow cone!

YUM! And the main positive was that it's relatively close to where I live. For a new stand, I think it will be pretty successful.

Thoughts

Ok, I feel bad that I haven't posted in awhile. Nothing's been blog-worthy. Then..... lightbulb! I was looking at some other blogs and noticed that a lot of people do thoughts on new arrivals at stores. That is exactly what I'm doing. I think I'm doing Hollister, JCrew, Abercrombie, Forever 21, and American Eagle. This will be a long post! 


Hollister:


Diver's Cove

I like it. Sort of. It seems pretty typical Hollister floral skirt, but the ruffles are relatively new. Verdict: nice ruffles, not very exciting


Victoria Beach

Hmmm, I like it, but I wish it had puffy sleeves like the Surfer's Point. I love the fresh white and blue combo. So summery! Verdict: Nice colors, wish it had sleeves


Oh yeah, I'm not doing all new arrivals! This post would take forever to do! I'm just picking  two things.

Perfect Shirt in Wild Ikat

I love this shirt! I'm loving ikat, and the color is perfect! The sleeve length is great for summer. Verdict: Love


Sequin Smolder Dress

Craziness! I could picture someone wearing at an insane party, but for $1,100, I wouldn't wear it more than once, even if I was that crazy! But I like the ombre.
Verdict: Crazy, expensive, sequin-y


Abercrombie:


Jody

Really, Abercrombie? Really? I can't imagine wearing a big A on my shorts! And I think Abercrombie and Hollister shorts are to short to be flattering, but that's just my opinion.
Verdict: weird. Abercrombie's going downhill fast!


Megan

Listen hard: It's not winter! I'm just curious: why do they have a heavy coat in mid-summer? But If it was winter, I would probably wear it. Verdict: winter coat in the summer. Hmmmm, interesting! But cute. Kinda.


Forever 21:


Aztec Woven Top

I love it! The colors, the style, the pattern. It's ikat! And we all know I am in love with ikat! Verdict: love! I would wear with white denim, denim, or gray shorts!


Distressed Denim Shorts with Suspenders

Leave it to Forever 21 to put suspenders on distressed shorts! I guess it's possible to make them work, but until I see it, I'm not going to believe it. Verdict: Wow. Who wears this? 


American Eagle:


AE Embroidered Boho Top

I love almost all Boho things, including this. I also love anything embroidered. My problem with this shirt is the color. It's summer! I love the brights of summer! It looks good in navy, but it could look so much better in a brighter hue! Even a lighter blue would be an improvement! I have nothing against navy, but it could be so much better with a brighter shade! They also have it in Chalk, but it's still not quite doing it! Verdict: Love the style, wish it had a brighter color!


AE floral Boho Top in PInk

Yes, this is pink. I love this shirt! I loved it so much, that I bought it. At first, it looked odd to me, but I tried it on and loved it! My favorite thing to wear with it is my high-waisted denim shorts. It's so colorful and 70's! I own like two 70's-y articles of clothing and this is one of them. Verdict: Love! Perfectly 70's!


Ok, that was a long post! And I know I'm really late, considering that this is a new arrivals post, but it's better than nothing at all! 


What do yall think? Are they to crazy? Subdued? Any thoughts on the stores or other "new" arrivals that aren't really that new anymore? I'm gonna call them mid-season arrivals! Any other stores I should check out? Does anyone else love the very few 70's pieces that they own? Tell me I'm not alone!

Sunscreen Hair

Hey hey! I'm back for another OOTD post! Ok, I went swimming last night. But there was just one problem: The problem was that chlorine makes hair dye fade. So the lady at the salon told to put sunscreen on it. Well, the sunscreen was a big goopy mess! It wouldn't rub in, and it just wasn't working. So I put this almost like liquid-y sunscreen that worked a bit better. Then I just kinda gave up after that. Fast forward a few hours. I was walking upstairs, when I saw another scorpion (off topic. I know!). My dad killed and I took a shower down stairs. I scrubbed my hair so hard, but it stills smells like sunscreen! It also feels like sunscreen, and I can't brush it! Ugh ugh ugh! So that's why my hair looks so funny. And I can't put it in a ponytail. UGH. Oh well, I'll just buy the special hair sunscreen, but for now, I think I'll try Vaseline! Fingers crossed!


Ok, so here's today's oufit!

That last one was my sad attempt at Superman! Anyway, Shirt: Abercrombie, Shoes: Steve Madden, Jeans: Hollister, Scarf: American Eagle.  


Have any of you worn scarves or jeans in the summer? I'll be honest, I changed into white denim shorts as soon as I got inside! I wear this scarf year round. I'm obsessed! It's so soft and light, but it's warm enough for winter! Well, Texas winter, which is like December 4- February 14. Some people think it's shorter, but that's my Austin winter! What are yall's winters? cold? mild? 

Snow Cones: Casey's New Orleans Snowballs

Let's get this out of the way: it is not a snow cone, but it's similar. The ice is a bit different, but it tastes just as amazing!




Also, it's in an old house; not a trailer. You order from the front porch!

Selection: **** Interesting! They have snowballs, juiceballs, cream flavors, and of course, sugar free. I think nectar, fireball, and hurricane sound awesome! 

Bees, Wasps, and Stinging Bugs: **** Pretty sweet! I think I saw one wasp, but I did get an ant bite!


Lines: ***** I don't know if we just arrived at the perfect time or what, but we saw people eating snow cones and people ordering snow cones after us, but not one person had to wait in line!


Ice: ***** This is what makes it a snow ball! Best ice I've ever had! I think it's like crazy thinly shaved ice or what, but that ice is like powder snow! Perfect. Well, not exactly. A few chunks were at the bottom, but if you don't mind chunks (I don't), then it's the perfect ice! 

It looks like Snow Beach ice, but it's so much better! Here's the bottom. It had a few chunks of ice, but not terrible:

I know it's hard to see, but there aren't too many ice balls!




Toppings: ***** Does it get any better? Classic cream and carmel, but seriously? Chamoy, Sweetened condensed milk, whipped cream, and chili con limon? You have got to be kidding me! I think that the sweetened condensed milk sounds delicious! 


Snow Cones: **** Over all, best snow cone I've ever had! Great (ish) selection, no lines, crazy toppings, no bugs (almost!)! Yes, the ice had a few chunks, but there's always room for improvement! 


I got the custard and root beer! It was so good! I contemplated cream soda vs. custard, but obviously custard won. I try not to use to two soda flavors in a snow cone, but Brussel Sprout's standards aren't as high. He got root beer and cream soda (it was good, but not as good as mine! :D). My  dad got cherry and grape. I hate all grape anything. Except that grape snow ball! For grape, it was amazing! So go to Casey's and let's enjoy our pure enjoyment together! *sigh*..... I love snow balls!


Amanda~ I was lost in another world when I looked at the menu. I forgot to try the watermelon and coke! I will next time!


Anyone else in love with snow balls? More flavor suggestions?  Has anyone ever tried the juice balls?  

Guess Who Got a Neon Pink Streak in Her hair!

Ok, ok! I'll give you a hint: I did!


Bubbles slept over last night, and her mom let her get a pink streak in her hair. Lucky me! My mom decided to let me get one! It took about two hours because I have dark hair, and they need to bleach it before they dye it.

Any new, trendy, risky summer hair decisions? Love it? Hate it? Does anyone else have to wait an hour for a strand of hair to be bleached? Please tell me I'm not alone!

Busy Busy Busy and Thoughts on Spelling

Today I ran. In tennis shoes with my puppy. Let's get this straight: I AM NOT A RUNNER! Nor am I very fast. But today I ran, and I'll be the first to admit, it felt good. I felt energized and ready to take on today's challenges (the TV won't watch itself!). Then I bathed my sweetie pie puppies (who aren't puppies anymore) and did a nice long swimming workout. SO. FUN.  I loved it! Then I literally changed from a damp swimsuit to a leotard so I could dance for 3 hours! Today was amazing! Yay!


My two baby loves! They look different because now they have shorter fur. Bear, the black and white one, is my puppy. DJ, the goldendoodle, is Brussel Sprout's! Sorry these are bad pics! Soon I will show yall what they look like now with their shorter fur (adorable!). Promise! Yay!

But enough about today! I'm talkin' 'bout tomorrow! Like the two ' in a row? anyway, tomorrow I'm going to get a gift for my friend's b-day, and then drive to her party, which is an hour away! Then I will blog about how fun it was . After that, I'm having Bubbles over! Then I will blog about that. Yay! I like paragraphs ending in 'yay'. Yay!

Swimming on a Tuesday!

Sing the title to Livin' on a Prairie. Much more fun! Anyway, I love swimming, but I can't do swim team. Why? Ear complications. Fun, huh? Yeah, so I take private lessons with Brussel Sprout (my bro), who despises swimming. We learned soooo much in only 30 minutes, and he's gonna give us a swim workout to help with dance! But I can't do the workout tonight. I'm going to a Bible study with some of my friends. Yay! Anyway, yeah, I need to do my Waco post, so sorry this post is soooo short! I don't have much to say, so I'm gonna let some of my mom's pictures talk for me!
